Burn the Bluebook, says Judge Richard Posner
Heresy or common sense? Either way, Judge Richard Posner hilariously expresses something each one of us probably considered at least once. In his criticism of the federal judiciary on greenbag.org, Judge Posner suggests, reminiscent of Shakespeare:
"the first thing to do is burn all copies of the Bluebook ... no serious reader pays attention to citation format; all the reader cares about is that the citation enable him or her to find the cited material"
Posner's article, which includes many interesting suggestions for change, is available at WHAT IS OBVIOUSLY WRONG WITH THE FEDERAL JUDICIARY, YET EMINENTLY CURABLE.
